Hey Dear Friends!
I’m Gretchen Miles, also known as “The Crazy Sports Mom”. More than likely, you will find me at the soccer and baseball fields.
I am the wife of a predictable and very witty Boeing engineer.
Mother of 6 kiddos.
Kaleb-21yrs. Junior at Northwest Christian University
Jacoby-21yrs. Junior at Seattle Pacific University
Alexandria- (Alex)18 yrs. Freshman at Azusa Pacific University
Morgan-16yrs. Junior at Rogers High School
J.J.-13yrs. 7th grade at Ballou Jr. High
Vincent (Vinny) 9yrs. 4th grade at Zeiger Elementary
Welcome to my crazy existence!
Truth be told, it was “a sport” that prompted me to start a personal blog.
Our fifteen year old daughter, Jacoby, was involved in a devastating gymnastics accident. While dismounting the uneven bars, she opened up too early and landed on her neck. She immediately lost all feeling from her shoulders down, leaving her a quadriplegic.
A new journey was beginning, wanted or not.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
I am absolutely certain, I will not have answers to ALL my “whys” until I am looking into the face of my Savior. BUT…I have been given a few.
God is GOOD…ALL the time.
God is Faithful.
God is Sovereign.
This “accident” has brought about an urgency to truly KNOW my God and to KNOW His word.
The more time I spend in His word…the more I fall “head-over heals” in love with Him. He IS the treasure… He IS my song.
A passion to write was etched into the marrow of my soul. NOT because I believe I am a gifted writer, but because I have a yearning for others to have the same hope…the same assurance.
Let’s face it; life is hard. Trials show their ugly face to each and every one of us. Unfortunately, we can’t control which trials come our way. However, we DO get to decide how we will RESPOND to them.
Learning to “SEIZE THE DAY” in the midst of real life frustrations, devastating heartache and challenges is what we all desperately want to do.
So, if you need hope, motivation, and encouragement as much as I do, then this blog is for YOU!
Join me on this wild and unpredictable journey called “life”.

My love for people and theology can be traced back to my college days at Seattle Pacific University. It was in those dorms that I developed a personal relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ.
This relationship gave me a true love for people. For all people.
Social work became the degree that won my heart. By the time I graduated from college, Jason and I had 3 children. ( I did tell you I was crazy.)
I was given the amazing opportunity to work for a non-profit organization called “Step-by-Step.” This social agency helps many high-risk women/mothers in need.
I cherished these women; I still do. However, I knew I was moving into a new chapter of life at home.
Being the Suffragette I am, I believe women have the right to choose to be a stay-at-home mom as well. Contrary to what many people portray, it is a VERY challenging task to take on the “home frontier”. Trust me, whether you work outside the home or work from it… You have my utmost respect!
I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Jason, for 22 years. We have 6 children and 2 precious weimers! We live outside of Seattle, Washington.
Like everyone else, I enjoy doing MANY things, but have a shortage of daylight hours. Here are a few: running, reading, writing, watching my kiddos sports games, eating tacos, watching ANY sports game, spending time with their hilarious father and listening to Beth Moore, Tony Evans and Christine Caine.
I am a member of Elim Evangelical Free Church in Puyallup, WA where I have lead MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers), and teach Children’s and Women’s bible study. Jason and I are currently privileged to help lead Young Life at Rogers High School.
